I haven’t had opportunity to put out as many features lately. I’ve pivoted my time to some other exciting things, one of them is helping facilitate a reconstruction and vision for waxradioindy.com. As busy as I’ve been in all aspects of my life, no way was I going to break tradition. I had to reach out as we are going into our 4th year of Octane Amy bringing some spooky-ass Drum & Bass to our ears. Thankfully for myself, as most our readers know, Amy likes to give her own run downs which is fine by me. It is the morning of Devil’s Night as I type this and I have rituals to get to as soon as I get off work in a couple hours. With no further bullshit, here is the mix and I’ll pass the mic to Amy.
Halloween is my favorite! I’m one of those ‘SpOoKy all year’ kinda people and super stoked to be back for the 4th consecutive Halloween mix on Graveyard Radio! Little bit of a back story into the mix, this year my 2 kids and I joined a local haunt (Warrior’s Haunted Asylum). Scare acting at a haunted house has been a bucket list item of mine for most of my life and sharing that experience with my monsters has been an adventure like no other! This mix has morphed into a metaphor of our time there and the thrill of the scares. Dark, dirty, eerie, intimidating, heart thumping, blood pumping panic inducing you don’t know what to expect and we are feeding on the screams! Absolute exhilaration from beginning to end. It’s KILLER vibe!
Noteable tracks: I mean all of them, really, right?! I don’t play tunes that I don’t stand behind 100%. This mix required a lot of interesting selections to formulate the picture I was trying to paint. Paperfunk Recordings has been delivering some absolute gems lately. Huge ups to BrainRave Music and STONX Music as well. Got a few from Protoss in the mix, absolutely love what direction he’s been leaning with that dirty tech step. Project Zeus has had some phenomenal releases lately; “Echelon” is an absolute favorite. TRCD “Readtiv8” really hits in so many places that one just gripped me from the first time I heard it and Dropset x ESYM “Tyrants Falls” jeeeeeeesh that’s a whopper.
