MACHINES VS. MONSTERS INVADES OLD NATIONAL (6/3/25) REVIEW

The Machines vs Monsters Tour Invaded Old National in the Egyptian Room on 6/3/25. The Egyptian Room is located inside on the 2nd Floor of the Old National Center in downtown Indianapolis. It is a large ballroom that hosts a plethora of events over the years. Tonight it’s time for Static-X, GWAR, DOPE, and A Killers Confession to rock Indy.

A Killers Confession was first to take stage. A Killers Confession is a mix of melodic hard rock dosed with elements of with metal and industrial. Front man and lead vocalist Waylon Reavis and Keyboardist Richard “Stitch” Thomas are both from MUSHROOMHEAD. They played a 7 song set and Waylon quest was for everyone to, “Save a Kid and Go Kill a Pedophile!”

DOPE was up next. Dope is an Industrial Metal band from New York City formed in 1997. I have seen DOPE on numerous occasions. Tonight DOPE’s guitarist had a family emergency and had to be replaced by the guitarist from Static-X. Edsel Dope is also the lead singer for Static – X continuing on Wayne Static’s legacy. They played a 9 song set ending with a metal cover of You Spin Me Round. It actually works go check it out wherever you stream music.

The Almighty GWAR was up next. This Shock Rock Thrash Metal band is on their 40th year Anniversary tour currently and decided to rope this tour into this years schedule too. Per usual they were here to kill everything and leave no survivors. Their 10 song set spewed blood all over The Egyptian Room. They opened with Fuck This Place and ended with Sick of You. Some notable people they killed at this show were Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and Taylor Swift. They also killed GOR GOR a huge red T Rex that they brought out on stage. After they left the stage everyone was left bloody, disgusting, and always wanting MORE BLOOD!

It was finally time for Static-X to take the stage. This was the band that everyone came to see. Static-X’s Evil Disco sound is a great mix of Aggressive Thrash Metal with Industrial overtones and a Techno pulse. I’ve seen the original Static X once and this new version twice now. Together Front man XerO aka Edsel Dope, Bassist Tony Campos (FEAR FACTORY), Guitarist Koichi Fukuda, and Drummer Ken Jay form Static-X. They performed a blistering 16 song set covering most of their iconic album Wisconsin Death Trip. They of course paid tribute to Wayne Static the fallen original lead singer for Static X. Wayne died in 2014 but XerO continues on and does the band a solid with his lead vocals.

This show was awesome. All of the bands sounded amazing! Hats off to the guys in the sound booth. The crowd was all ages, and was a nice mix of old metal heads and new metal fans. It was neat seeing the new generation of metal fans experiencing these veteran bands for the first time. Until next time you can always check back in here at graveyardradio.net for more coverage of great shows.
