ATOM MCTOM DELIVERS SOME VINYL GOODNESS AHEAD OF 45 THIEVES SHOW IN CLEVELAND!

Graveyard Radio is keeping its eyes and ears on Cleveland’s DNB scene, always. When we heard that 45 Thieves was playing a show, and one of our graveyardradio.net residents had landed a supporting spot on the line-up, we reached out to ATom Mctom to put together a set with some tunes to throw up!

Tom gave us some real gems here. Like all his previous contributions to our collective, he produced an all-vinyl set. It’s rare to come across those these days, so we always jump at the opportunity to get our nostalgia-driven hands on one. We’ve got to give props to Tom on this one! His last mix is the most played mix on our SoundCloud. He really went for it on this one and didn’t play anything safe. Sometimes when you don’t play it safe, it gets a little rough, and in a scene with so much based on digital perfection, getting a little rough on some wax is refreshing as fuck.

Tom threw down some modern bangers, like Harmony & Xtreme’s “I Can’t Stop” 2020 release. However, the highlight for me was the Double L Remix of DJ Monk’s classic “I-Spy” from 1994! I love hearing the classics on vinyl, and this is one of my favorites.

To my delight, I loved hearing another ’94 classic, “Nice & Slow” by Da Intalex with L Double on this joint as well. This track has such a beautiful soul, making it yet another one of my favorite classic tracks.

“Let’s talk about this Friday at Habitat! Atom McTom will be supporting along with Hayden and Home Sauce for 45 Thieves! I’ve been into these guys since 2006, ever since I acquired the “For Your Ride Home” mp3 file I found on the internet after attending a show called “Afterlife”. 45 Thieves were supposed to play that party, but it was shut down. This was a nice consolation prize for not being able to catch them play.”

Now that you are in on a little bit of graveyardradio.net history, it’s worth noting that 45 Thieves have been releasing new music this year. The two tracks I’ve peeped so far are pretty dope. “Champion” has a more modern, spacey sound to it, while “Murda Tune” holds to the duo’s roots with a modern twist. Both tracks are beautifully mastered and are definitely worth checking out. Both should be available on all platforms.

Be sure to stop by the official event page to get tickets and peep all the show info. Be safe this weekend.
