I don’t even know where to begin. Approximately towards the end of last winter, Graveyard Radio became hip to the return of 90’s underground dnb/Jungle legend, Phantom 45. It has been quite a ride for the elusive Chicago resident. He’s had countless bookings since our coverage last March. However, action shots of this man are scarce. Thankfully, Danny the Wildchild was able to get a couple good snaps from their recent trip to Gainesville, FL for “Science & Sickness” back in Novemeber.

Cool pics behind the decks was not the only thing we got from 45 when he came back from Florida. 45 promptly uploaded the set to his Mixcloud, where it quickly made it’s way to the number 1 spot on the Global Neurofunk Chart.

Speaking of mixes, dude has been a straight beast when it comes to output. Since the creation of his Mixcloud, 45 has put out 29 new mixes and remastered 11 classic mixtapes from the 90s. Below is one of his more recent that was not recorded from a live set, and it’s absolute alchemy.

It’s been also picked up via 45’s personal Facebook page that he has “dived head first” in music creation. When could we actually see music? It’s anyone’s guess. Graveyard Radio will be keeling a close eyes on this to catch anything that develops.

Merch! I took just a small sample of what is available at Phantom 45’s online shop! These are some sick threads. 45 use of pop culture references, tongue & cheek wit, inside odes to the Chicago rave scene, and cynical humor, is nothing short of genius for his brand. You can peep the entire catalog at p45.threadless.com.

Let’s look at what we have for confirmed shows to close out what has been an incredible year for Mr. 45. We can start with tonight at Beauty Bar Chicago for “The Formula” with Danny The Whildchild and some other great talent. Free cover!

Then on December 15th you can catch P45 for Proper Chicago DNB Presents Liquid Lounge. Get all the details on the official event page.

Which brings us to the close out! On NYE, City Players Club will be pulling off what looks like a hell of shin dig! (No pun intended) You know the flyer alone got my attention. Keeping in line with old school traditions, Re:Pent NYE have not let the public know it’s official location. One would assume somewhere about the Milwaukee metropolitan area. We have an info line # and link to purchase tickets. You can also keep up on their event page as well.
In conclusion, the future is looking bright for Phantom 45. Graveyard Radio is excited to see what 2024 holds for him. Be sure to give 45 a follow on Mixcloud if you have not already.
