The landscape of Amusement Audio has shifted with the arrival of Sterlin, an artist who strips away polished artifice to focus on the grit of lived experience. Released on March 20th, 2026, the single “Just Like You” (AMUSE049) acts as a defining entry point into a project rooted in the raw reality of the Midlands.
Sonic Profile: Black Country Anarchy
Sterlin is a poet first, broadcasting from the heart of Birmingham’s Black Country with a voice that is unapologetically Brummie. His delivery is a complex collision of cultural markers, blending a raw Birmingham accent with broken English and Jamaican patwah.
The track moves away from standard electronic textures, utilizing punk-fuelled, anarchy-driven backdrops built from live instrument recordings. Co-produced with James Davis, the sound is driven by upbeat drumming and the vibrant guitar work of Jonny Roberts from the band This Is War.
Truth Over Volume: The Lyrical Intent
Writing from the perspective of the worker, Sterlin targets the structural flaws of social economics with a heavy hand. However, the message is delivered with a calculated layer of irony. The track uses lighthearted, satirical comedy to turn the lens inward, acting as a reminder that we are often far more alike than we are different—even when we are quick to criticize others. These stories are formed by personal experience and the unfiltered truth of daily life.
The Ongoing Protocol
This March release is merely the first strike in a sustained campaign. Sterlin and Amusement Audio have established a roadmap that includes:
- Monthly Cycles: A consistent schedule of monthly releases to maintain momentum.
- Visual Archive: Upcoming music videos and visual content designed to anonymously cover all aspects of life with no filters.
- Uncompromising Representation: A unique experience fully supported and represented by the Amusement Audio infrastructure.
