Normally, when I listen to music, my mind goes into overdrive, picking apart layers, analyzing the structure, scanning for every detail, deconstructing and reimagining what I hear. But the moment I put on tracks by iLLform with VeronicaRed, all the mental noise melted away. Instead of dissecting the sound, I found myself fully immersed in it, dissolving into waves of melody and rhythm. Lyrics like “trust the process” didn’t just echo throughout the current track I was listening to; they anchored me in a meditative stillness, guiding me deeper into a state of calm I didn’t know I needed.
And yet, behind the smooth, trance-inducing voice of VeronicaRed is iLLform’s razor-sharp production—jazzy chords, deep basslines, crisp breaks. It’s drum & bass that breathes. Music that occupies that liminal space between futuristic and organic. I found myself drawn to the contrast between the spacious, futuristic feel—full of tech and cosmic imagery—and the grounded, introspective emotion woven through the lyrics. That tension between the vast and the intimate really hits in a world that feels both connected and distant at times.
“Galactic Rebirth” perfectly captures that vibe—cosmic yet intimate, dreamy yet precise. Definitely one to bump when you want to take your mind on a journey.
Which is exactly why I’m so excited to catch iLLform and VeronicaRed live at the World of Drum & Bass Tour when it hits Cleveland on July 30th at 8 PM. This one’s going down at Mercury Music Lounge in Lakewood, and the lineup is absolutely stacked (Danny Byrd, Inja, Glitch City, Bladerunner, DJ SS—you get the picture).

Grab your tickets here and arrive on time because you’re not going to want to miss this set!
