Danny “Fatchick” Abbott has been putting it down with bass heavy beats, building his brand for the last 20 years. A Producer/DJ, this eccentric character can throw down and get the room jumping like no one else’s business. With changing times and climate, Danny has finally decided to put aside old things, and put his focus into new things, like the absolutely gnarly DNB tag project, “Want More.” You know what they say though, “It isn’t over till the Fatchick has sung,” or something like that. We’ll take a look at Danny’s official bio one last time.
“Fatchick been in the game since the early 2000s dropping Drum and Bass vinyl. Started moving his style with Orantica and Basspusher Productions in 2012 blending his drum and bass knowledge with a twist of funk. Fatchick is known for throwing down some of this city’s funkiest sets that are guaranteed to get that booty moving and shaking on the dance floor. With his slick track selection and a sprinkle of his own productions thrown in, it’s impossible not to get down when Fatchick is on the decks!”
So be sure to catch this last chance to see the Fatchick throw down the business July 30th at The World of Drum & Bass Cleveland Part 2!
Now that the formalities are out the way, you guys need to checkout this mix from Want More!
This set, clocking at just under 30 minutes, is an absolute bopper, through and through! In just that time I think I could have counted about 15 tracks. In Want More, Danny tags with one of his close homies, Citrine Dream. They put the smack down together on this set! Crafting their own bootlegs and productions, they keep this mix raver & hood. Featuring tracks from Bennie & Nu Elementz, Knife Party, Pink, and more! The quick change ups, mixed with high energy tunes, each one hitting hard in it’s own way, after the short and sweet 27 minutes is up, you are sad it’s over and salivating for more.
We are encouraging our readers and fans of Fatchick to give Want More a follow on SoundCloud. They got a handful of pretty sweet bootlegs, some being featured in the Mix.
I get goose bumps everytime I look at this flyer. The local and regional talent is on point. Sinister Dosage needs a feature someday. He is one of my absolute favorites! Not to mention the heavyweight lineup of headliners! Danny Byrd, This Is Inja, and Glitch City all hitting Cleveland for the first time! The return of Bladerunner & DJ SS! We got 2 nights sleep before the big day! Get those tickets at this link! Cleveland is going to get loud on Wednesday!
