So excited to get this one pushed out. I ain’t going to lie, it’s been sitting there on our SoundCloud as private for months with artwork done and everything. We were just waiting for the right moment to put with out. With BasiK set to play The World of Drum & Bass – Cleveland, now is that time.
BasiK, who has a background as a trained percussionists, has moved into producing electronic music seamlessly. He has been able to create multiple tunes that have charted in the top 100 on various platforms. He is known for his high energy sets and it only take a short glance at his Instagram to see that is no lie.
This mix was recorded live @ SUB:SONIC w/ TRUTH & KHIVA last April. Clocking in at just under 60 minutes, this heavy weight of a set is packed with some thick stompers. BasiK blends creatively behind the decks, with familiar hits like Sky FX & UK Apachi’s “Original Nutta 25”, to a lovely low end DNB version of Overmono’s “Is U” which gave me those warm fuzzies I always talk about. It shows a mind from someone who knows how to put together a diverse playlist of different sound and knows how to mix them. I absolutely loved the rework of Koffee’s Toast and “Spearfisher” by Hoax was also very nice. I also caught an original production from Basik, his 2025 release of “Samples & Shadows”
