It was once again my pleasure to grace the dance floor and VIP booths of the illustrious INVY Nightclub a little over a week and a half ago. Indianapolis was in it’s last days of a massive heatwave, setting record temps nationwide. Little did those in attendance realize, that wouldn’t be anything compared to the meltdown of beats, bass, and vibes that surged inside those club walls on June 28th, in the valiant year of our Lord, 2025.

These are the moments I live for. 2 years embedded with the Aliens On Mushrooms brand, I’m still blown away by each experience they bring. You can read all about it right here on this website, if you’ve been paying attention… A whole lot about it! Even so, I know I missed some things, but y’all can do a simple search and get a very clear picture. Whether it be in the swanky corridors of Invy, a block party in Fountain Square, a spooky Halloween party decorated to the 9s, or whatever else they are getting into, you will get an event that will take you on a journey with the perfect balance of old-school & nu-school dance culture. This particular night at Invy was no exception. Though the decor was a bit stripped down this particular night, the brand more than made up for it with an extremely brilliant and leveled system that sounded great throughout the club, not to mention, a stacked line-up of exceptionally talented DJs that all brought an arsenal of great music for us to dance to.
DJ WHIT STARTS THE NIGHT OFF PROPER

Whitney was right at home opening this up as the doors opened and people started flowing in. With her bubbly personality and keen track selection, Whit blended Tech House beats like a pro in the booth. Putting out great energy, she was able to create a fast buzz for those early birds hitting the club, getting our dancing shoes warmed up nicely. Whit played sassy tracks like “Proper Ladies” from BLUPRNT. We also got some world flavors with the spectacular club mix of “Baiana” originally done by Barbatuqueas, a group of Brazilian “Body Percussionists”. We even got treated to some proper ratchet shit when she put down “Tootsie Pop” by Marcus Strous.

Whit, whose parents and group of hardcore fans came out early to see her, once again proved her status as a rising in this city’s dance scene.

URIAH g, CONSISTENTLY HOLDING IT DOWn!
Banging out some of the hottest tracks to move your feet to, Uriah G performed another flawless set to an eager crowd of party people! Smooth transitions, with a monstrous stage presence, G shook the room with a big intensity. Uriah would drop straight tech-house tunes like Simone Vettorato’s “The Cut” or “Long time” by Sivert J., to only wake up the room with playing more dirty-sleezy sounding cuts like “Booty Gang” by Polksi. He’s not afraid to hit this crowd with the real big tracks as well, like “On My Mind” SIDEPIECE VIP that brought cheers to the floor. Never have I seen a man more at home and in his element than Uriah G in the booth at Invy. I was also able to pick out heavy hitters like Tom Enzy and AYYBO out of his set.

GETTOBLASTER IS THE EMBODIMENT OF EVERYTHING I WANT IN A DJ.

As I said in my last article featuring Gettoblaster, Paul is my favorite DJ. He’s the whole package. With chart topping original tracks, unparalleled mixing abilities, scratching skills that will send a dance floor over the top, and a huge personality that is paired with with big energy behind the decks, it all is ridiculously infectious. This is why he is the worldwide globe trotter he is. His set on this night was absolutely smoking, giving his audience another unforgettable experience. Gettoblaster put down hard Latin Tech-House bangers like Nick Xuso’s “Delincuente”. He also laid out very interesting mash-ups I have yet to hunt down thus far, one of them being “W.A.P.” meshed with New Order’s “Blue Monday,” which was incredible. We were also treated to a slew of Ghetto-Tech, leading into Paul really taking us back to the rave when he dropped “Fantastic Thing” UK Gold remix. Holy shit, dude! The room was pumpin’ and the vibes were real. We also got lots of spikey scratches put down to much approval from the dance floor.
Paul dropped what I’m calling a signature track on his current tour, SIDEPIECE’s “Cash Out”. I was able to catch the first drop on my phone, been a favorite of mine on his Instagram stories all summer. I was also able to catch tracks from OMNOM, Marco Strous, and Sven Lochenhoer.

Gettoblaster is one of the only DJs left that makes me feel like the raver I was 25 years ago when I hear them play.

SHIBA SAN THROWS DOWN MYSTERIOUS SET. HE IS A MASTER OF PRECISION!

Most of what I tried to ID out of Shiba San’s epic set came out empty. Besides his big hits like “Okay” and “All I Need”, I felt completely in the dark. The Parisian DJ/Producer put on a clinic of house music that kept things deep, dark, and gnarly, hitting lows that could be felt in the chest and bowels. The first 20 minutes was real deep Tech-House sound, I was losing myself a little bit. However, I started hearing so many low-end bass grooves, like the one in Shiba’s track “Burn Like Fire”, that absolutely made it impossible for me to not glide my feet across the little area I had for myself to dance on. Shiba San masterfully produced one bopper after the next with fluidity. He worked his levels and effects with grace. As he played his tunes, he continuously put forth a charisma behind the decks that kept his crowd engaged and moving. These beats were not for the faint of heart, and the crowd was very pleased with the performance. I couldn’t have been happier, not to mention the last hour of the set, Invy’s patrons were gifted with to a b2b from Shiba San & Gettoblaster, Paul throwing down some of those killer scratches I was talking about. Trinidad Traxx even caught it on video for us.
They make it look so easy! Only a special kind of person can make it to this elevation of the mountain. As the city skyline blurred by, staring out the window of the passager seat, I once again found myself feeling blessed for my friends, my scene… like I said, these are the moments I live for. Big ups to VariableOp for getting me home safe. It won’t be a night easily forgotten.
