GREEN VELVET GLOWS UP INDY! ALIENS ON MUSHROOMS PUT ANOTHER EPIC NIGHT IN THE BOOKS!

ON A PERSONAL NOTE:

We may be living in dark times, but that isn’t slowing down the vibrant nightlife of those coming out at after dark to dance the night, and their troubles away. I had a rough week, I think a lot of us did. This is a scenario I find myself in more and more. The dread of going out as an adult, with a day job, a family, etc. As I go about my day, a little voice in my head… “Is this really all worth it?” The answer once I step outside to enjoy the midnight air, is always a yes! Especially on a Sunday morning at 5:15 AM in downtown Indianapolis. It’s humbling and in the grand scheme of things, I feel very small in these moments. So that all said, I’m going to use the intro of such a big headline to brag on my city as a whole. Indianapolis is absolutely beautiful. I’m so happy to be apart of it. You got The Patron Saint across the street from Invy, Progressive Indy, NAP DNB, IndyMojo, Collage, Trinidad Traxx, Universal Vibe, and that is just what I can think of off the top of my head. All these promotions & clubs are filling rooms, and it’s incredible what each group of people does for this city. This scene gives me hope, maybe everything will be okay with the world. We are still here today, getting down to the beat. I remember a period of time when dance music had very little, if no space at all to even exist in this city, or across the country. How far everyone has come that I’ve known over the years. It’s 2025, and this year I celebrate 25 years deep as a DJ, participant, and observer of dance culture. Taking a chance to step back and see this whole picture warms my heart, and I just want everyone to know personsonally, I appreciate all of you. I don’t have the resources & or availability in my personal life to cover more than what I do on my platform beyond where I’m sitting right now. That leaves me to use this opportunity to reach out to you, if anyone who would like to represent a promotion in Indy, please let me know. Email me at admin@graveyardradio.net. You provide the article, I’ll provide the platform. It does go without saying, you all get my love.

DILLRIG & MR. DOM “THE PARTY IS JUST BEGGINING”

I arrived to Invy as Dillrig, who is out of Lafayette, IN, and he was getting the early birds warmed up. In true Aliens On Mushrooms fashion, Invy was decorated to in theme with giant blow-up aliens & mushrooms throughout the club. Black-lit paintings & banners hung from the walls. Some of the night’s first bottles were getting popped. Friends and patrons were getting settled in and getting all cozy. Dillrig was putting down some thick grooves. Most I was unable to ID. I did catch a new re-work of the hit 2001 track, “Lady (Hear Me Tonight) by Modjo, that those in attendance openly enjoyed. I discovered later after meeting Dillrig, he’s also a producer, and had dropped 7 original tracks during his set. This is a name to keep eyes on, the stuff he was playing sounded great! We were ready to vibe.

Mr. Dom was up next to take control of the decks. Dom set the tone as more people came streaming into the club. He held a comfortable presence in the booth, mixing his tunes smoothly, with outright professionalism. He dropped tracks from Red Axes, Meta Gami, and Grooveyard. When he dropped a remix of “In The Air Tonight” done by Amal Nemer, the dance floor swelled. It’s a great thing to see an old homie after years of work, get such a great opportunity to play tunes in such a space for such an event. Dom took full advantage of the situation and held it down. He ended his set with an epic mix into , “House Anthem” by Clüb De Combat, bringing joy to raver hearts.

“MAKE SOME NOISE FOR URIAH G IN THIS MOTHER FUCKER!”

By the time Dom was finished with his set, Invy was packed wall to wall. These people were ready to get rocked. Uriah was happy to oblige.

We have a plethora of footage from his set from different angles. I’ve lost count how many Uriah sets I’ve reviewed on Graveyard Radio, I don’t know what else to say about it that I already haven’t. He kills it every time. So this time, we got video footage to see for your self. Crowd is hype! Paul of Gettoblaster jumping on the mic to pump up everyone brought the crowd to a full on rage-mode. Most of his tracks, I was not able to ID per usual, but I was able to pick up a slick re-work of “Let Me Be You Fantasy” by Baby D. Another notable moment, the crowd loved when “Disco Baby” by Jeff Sorkowitz & Javi Miramontes got slid into the mix. Peep the video, proof Uriah knows how to work his crowd!

GREEN VELVET – A MASTER SHOWMAN!

As Green Velvet took to the booth, the crowd roared with approval, I didn’t think the excitement couldn’t of been more intense as Velvet dropped his first track, followed by a clinic of a performance!

Velvets stage presence to second to none as he flawlessly fed the crowd track, after track, of straight fire. He lit the up, as I caught tracks from Mau P, Marco Lys, Hot Since 82. He played hit tracks of his own, collaborations with the likes of Adam Beyer, Chris Lake, and others. The people were eating out of his hand when he punched out 2019’s “Jolean” with Claude VonStroke & Get Real. I was at a loss for words with the vibes that were created. The sound was amazing, lazers, and videos screens were in full effect. This was a peak experience at this point.

3 AM rolls around and the lights come on, Green Velvet patiently & graciously met fans who wanted selfies, handshakes, and autographs. It wasn’t over though. A block or 2 away in an undisclosed location, Gettoblaster was throwing down, getting an after party warmed up. Upon making it to the secret location, I found myself in a room with close to as many people that were at the club, front to back, getting down. Paul was absolutely killing it for the crowd of late-nighters, who were definitely not ready to go to bed yet.

After a sick set and surprise cameo from Gettoblaster, Green Velvet was ready to take the decks once again for us. Velvet had decided to have Uriah up to the decks to put down some tunes with him. Together they decimated the the dance floor.

Besides the social media post I made in real time, there isn’t much else I have to say on the matter. It was epic. I left the building at 5:15 AM to catch my ride, and the floors was still jumping with people getting down to the set.

Getting to experience a brand such as Aliens On Mushrooms & the experience they provide on a regular in my city has been a blessing to be a part of. Paul & G are doing amazing things. J. Phlip was just announced at The Meridian Room! Gettoblaster got the album dropping in April, and I can’t wait to talk about that. Plus, a bunch of other dope stuff I’m not able talk about to talk about yet.

I can’t wait to see what is in store for “Paddy Meltdown”! J. Phlip is going to be in the fucking house at Meridian Room on March 15th! I was going to take the month off, but this is going to be another unique “Aliens On Mushrooms Experience”. Not to mention; I have yet to cover The Meridian Room. I have seen it in person, and I know it will provide an amazing intimate vibe. This line-up is absolutely stacked. So many DJs on this bill, I know are going to absolutely rock the place. Good people, good times. Tickets are available through Resident Advisor. I will be looking forward to seeing you all then.
