CARNIFEX, CRYPTOPSY, AND MORE TEAR THROUGH HI-FI!

Hey everyone, Smile here back with another show review. Sometimes Sunday shows get a bad wrap or blown off because of the workday to follow. However the Hi-Fi blew that stigma out of the water. This outdoor all ages show featuring the best of deathcore definitely brought it.

Heavy//Hitter from Florida opened the show. We caught the last bit of thier set. However they brought heavy deathcore setting the tone of the night with a wall of death in the first set.

Up next was Organectomy from New Zealand. Their brutal deathcore blasted from the stage. They were playing with a bass track because the bassist couldn’t make the tour. Great fan interaction from this band. i got a chance to speak with the lead singer after the set and thanked him for bringing Organectomy to the USA.

The next band was Mental Cruelty. They are black deathcore from Germany. I had to do a double take when the lead singer came on stage. He looks and sounded eerily like Alex Terrible from Slaughter to Prevail. After their set i met up with the lead singer and told him that and he said that was a very nice compliment.

Cryptopsy was next to take the stage. They are a death metal band from Canada formed in 1992 with 8 full length albums under their belt. I thought the lead singer with his hair whips reminded me of a younger “Corpsegrinder” from Cannibal Corpse. The Drummer was the original drummer celebrating 30 years with Cryptopsy.

Last but not least Carnifex the band we all came to see took the stage. They brought Deathcore at its finest from California. This tour celebrates their nineth studio album “Necromanteum.” Across their 12 song set they played tracks off of the new album and their other well known songs. It was great finally getting to see Carnifex live.

All in all this show at the Hi-Fi was a little undersold, but for the fortunate ones who were in attendance we got our faces melted off with all sorts of styles of brutal deathcore. Carnifex even shouted an online happy birthday wish for my son’s 18th birthday who was also in attendance. If you like it hard and fast definitely check out these bands wherever you stream music. Until next time, Keep Smiling!
