NatasK: A Musical Journey through Beats and Bass
Joseph Louis Kodba, widely known by his stage name NatasK, has built an impactful career as a DJ, producer, and mixed-media artist. Emerging from Erie, Pennsylvania, NatasK has been active since 2000, shaping the electronic music scene through various genres like Drum and Bass, Jungle, House, Techno, and more. His musical journey began with underground events, eventually leading to collaborations, international radio shows, and residencies in creative collectives.

NatasK’s career took off with the creation of Subsurface Tribe in 2001, an initiative that organized underground events across Pittsburgh and the surrounding tristate area. This early momentum was solidified in 2006 when several of his DJ mixes were featured on Liquid-DNB.com, aligning him with seasoned Drum and Bass DJs. His relocation to Erie in 2008 marked the birth of the 814 Bass Crew Collective, a movement that brought notable electronic artists to the region and established a consistent draw for monthly events.

In 2014, NatasK and fellow DJ Matisflex launched The Electric Circuit on 90.5FM, creating a weekly platform for electronic music on traditional radio. The show continued to grow and, by 2017, joined the UK-based HouseMasters Radio, allowing NatasK to reach audiences worldwide. Today, The Electric Circuit broadcasts on platforms like Ultimate Dance Radio and Organic Deep House Radio, broadening its international impact.

NatasK’s sound evolved as he partnered with Chauncy BillSup in 2020 to form the duo Fresh Pair, blending diverse electronic styles into bass-heavy remixes and original tracks. Recently, NatasK has expanded his influence by headlining festivals, collaborating with Dubai-based Organic Deep House Radio, and joining the STIM City Collective. This collaboration allows him to blend electronic music with visual art in immersive experiences at Erie’s FEED Media Art Center.

As a seasoned artist with over two decades in the industry, NatasK continues to innovate, merge genres, and expand his reach. From his beginnings in local underground scenes to international radio platforms, he exemplifies dedication to his craft and a relentless pursuit of creative expression.
