Uriah G Presents first show of 2024 popped off at Invy Nightclub in January, and it was nothing short of magical. Porky, Marbs, Lee Reynolds, and Mikey Lion crushed the decks for those who came to drink and dance the night away! Desert Hearts has an amazing crew of talent with a fun mission statement. I’d advise reading more about them here if you are unfamiliar with them. This collective makes some truly unique and fun music.
I was celebrating my birthday on this fine evening, I was however coherent enough to remember a few highlights to share with our readers. We also have some beautiful galleries courtesy of Snaps Inc. for your viewing pleasure. Simply click on any image in the gallery to enlarge and flip through.
All 4 DJ/Producers were in top form in the booth. Porky opened the night with a solid set to warm things up. The club had filled up nicely by the time Marbs took the stage. The vibes were thick with smiles across the room. It was evident the crowd was there to party and get down to some great tunes. These guys were more than happy to oblige to the fine people of downtown Indianapolis.
It’s worth an honorable mention that Cam Miller was also celebrating his birthday! We got to stop by his VIP booth to say hello. Come to find out he’ll be playing at The Mousetrap March 15th supporting Minnesota on his final tour! Get tickets here.
Mikey Lion took the stage next, and he brought some serious flavor. The club was in full swing at this point, and the liquor was flowing. The crowd was jumping as Mikey threw down a nice mixture of sounds, from house to techno and everything in between. Lee Reynolds was present in the crowd during this set, dancing and meeting fans; definitely a free spirit through and through. He definitely made a lot of friends on the dance floor before jumping behind the decks! At this point, I discovered I have a new favorite adult beverage. The shot of 1942, I had the opportunity to try for the first time, was some of the best booze I have ever tasted, and I’ve never really been a fan of tequila.
Lee Reynolds’ free personality shined on the decks as he blew through tracks that kept the people on the dance floor shouting and stomping their feet. I tried to ID a lot of tunes during the set. Unfortunately, I was not having luck identifying much. Especially ones that gained the hype responses from the crowd or peaked my interest enough to want to stop partying and see what it was. However I did get one.
The personal highlight for me was the few times some rave ass breaks got dropped. One of those times was when Lee dropped the Stanny Abram Remix of Emanuele’s Eternal Resolve. Absolutely massive track! This town need more break beats on bigger stages. I looked at Uriah in this moments and straight up told him, “We need to hear more of this homie!”
Like everyone else from Desert Hearts that played, Lee absolutely killed the dance floor. The night also inclued all new mind melting visuals! We saw tons of of new animations on Invy’s 2 large video screens, just adding to the incredible experience Uriah G and Invy try to create for their patrons.
The last hour of the night all 4 DJ/Producers went b2b closing out for a very happy club full of peeps. Porky, Marbs, Lee Reynolds, and Mikey Lion all worked in sync with one another to bring a proper close to the night to much fanfare.
It’s been a year now I’ve taken over coverage of Uriah G Presents from APM and it’s been an amazing opprotunity to help document what continues to be one fantastic nightlife experience after the next. I didn’t even get the chance to tell you guys about last November’s Aliens on Mushrooms show with Slugo, or Joe Meltdown bringing fire on a drum kit over DJs sets at Uriah’s Christmas Party with JJ Floors.
