Been a while since we talked about some metal. Time is my greatest enemy and in a perfect world, I’d cover so much more of the underground than just dance music. I must however make time for Obscene from Indianapolis, who is making waves in the underground metal community. It’s not everyday a band from our town drops a album of such brutality with a tour to match, so here we are.
This album is definitely seeing the hype from all over the web. Sites like metalepidemic.com, metalcrypt.com, and wonderboxmetal.com have all given rave reviews of the album. Obscene even had their first track debut courtesy of MetalSucks.
This is an absolute crushing record. Intact is a nail scraping old-school death metal sound. My humble opinion is that production is a good step up from their last effort, which brings out the sheer ferocity and gusto in which the band play their instruments. Kyle’s voice is as haunting as ever as he belts out his gnarly and morbid tales.
Physical CD copies are now available on order on Obscene’s bandcamp. Vinyl editions will be available August 5th.
That bring us to the tour. The guys have already kicked things off this week in St. Louis. They have their next 3 shows in Texas before make a small trek though the south, and wrapping up June 3rd in Youngstown, OH. Be sure to keep up with Obscene’s Facebook Page for future updates.
